The forest fire that started on July 16 in the Kamyshen forestry of the state forest natural reserve "Semey Ormany" was fully extinguished on July 28. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Forces and resources from the Ministry of Ecology, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan were involved in extinguishing the fire.
The ministry noted that the fire was extinguished thanks to the joint and coordinated work of all involved services.
Recall that the forest fire in the Abai region broke out on July 16. To fight the fire, forces and resources from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Security Committee, the Ministry of Defense, forestry institutions, local executive bodies, and the Ministry of Health were sent to the region.
According to the regional akimat, 769 people, 191 ground vehicles, and eight helicopters participated in extinguishing the fire. Aviation performed 319 water drops. A total of 709 tons of water were delivered to the fire site.
The work of firefighters was complicated by extreme heat, a high fire danger class, and difficult terrain.
The Ministry of Ecology confirmed the complete extinguishment of the fire and announced enhanced fire safety measures in the region.
