Investors have filed a lawsuit against American singer and actress Selena Gomez, accusing her of fraud in the launch of the mental health startup Wondermind Global. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Reuters.
Lawsuit filed
The lawsuit was filed in the federal court of Delaware. The plaintiffs claim they invested nearly $1.2 million in the company, expecting Gomez to actively participate in the project's development.

Wondermind Global was launched in 2021 as a platform designed to help users take care of their mental health.
Investors' claims
According to the investors, they were promised that Gomez, who has over 500 million followers on social media, would actively promote the company and effectively serve as head of marketing. However, as stated in the lawsuit, the singer and other Wondermind executives failed to fulfill their obligations. In particular, the company never launched the promised mobile app.
"Gomez allegedly signed a contract obligating her to fulfill her duties, then ignored it," the court documents state.
Additional accusations
The plaintiffs also claimed that the company allegedly never had a real plan to build a profitable business. According to them, Wondermind failed even basic obligations, including timely payment of employee salaries and settlements with suppliers.
Investors say they only learned about the startup's financial and organizational problems in September 2025, when details of the situation appeared in the media.
Demands
They now demand the return of their invested funds and compensation for legal costs.
Representatives of Selena Gomez had not publicly commented on the accusations at the time of the lawsuit's publication.
