The Ministry of National Economy has published a draft law on amendments and additions to the Tax Code. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The document proposes introducing a new Article 89-1 into the Tax Code. Under it, starting from 2027, accounts of sellers on marketplaces who fail to comply with tax authorities' orders may be blocked.
The ministry says there is a specific reason for introducing this change. According to the ministry's analysis, goods worth 2 trillion tenge ($4.5 billion) were sold through marketplaces. Of these, documents confirming the origin of goods worth 200 billion tenge ($447.9 million) have not been confirmed.
"All sellers were sent the relevant orders. To prevent such violations, it is proposed to block the account of a seller selling goods on a marketplace," ministry specialists say.
The draft law has been put out for public discussion until September 25, 2026.
