Out of the seven parties participating in the elections, only Baitak and Adilet are required to pay election fees. This was announced at a briefing by Central Election Commission member Mikhail Bortnik. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to him, the Adilet party, which is participating in elections for the first time, must pay the full election fee for all candidates.
Under Article 88 of the Constitutional Law "On Elections," parties that submit party lists must transfer to the CEC account a fee of 15 minimum wages for each candidate included in the list.
Parties that received at least 5% of the vote in the previous elections are exempt from payment.
The Baitak party received 2.3% of the vote in the last elections. Therefore, it must pay 70% of the established fee amount.
The Baitak party list includes 47 people. For each candidate, the party transferred 892,500 tenge. The total fee amounted to 41.947 million tenge.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that 34.3 billion tenge were allocated from the government reserve for the organization and conduct of the Kurultai deputy elections scheduled for August 23, 2026. The CEC explained that these expenses could not be foreseen in the republican budget in advance, as it was approved before the elections were called.
