Mamuka Pipiya, an expert of the Russian State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, shared his views on the election process in Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to Pipiya, equal conditions have been created for all parties and candidates. He noted the fairness of competition and struggle among parties.
"We asked questions to all candidates, there are no disagreements, the general order has not been violated. I see that young people are actively involved in these processes, which is very important. I can say that everything is going smoothly and calmly," he said.
The expert also stated that on election day, observers from the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly were given full freedom at polling stations. "If we notice any violations, we will immediately report them during the election process. Of course, later we will summarize all these processes," he added.
On August 23, elections to the new unicameral parliament are taking place in Kazakhstan and beyond its borders.
