US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said resolving the conflict in Ukraine through negotiations is not yet possible. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
No possibility for a negotiated settlement
In an interview with a Greek publication, Rubio said there appears to be no possibility of a negotiated settlement at present.
"There appears to be no possibility of a negotiated settlement right now. We are ready to play any role we can to help it happen. We have tried before, but so far we have not been able to achieve it," Rubio said.
Trump's statement
Recall that US President Donald Trump earlier said he would soon stop a ninth war. He most often refers to the conflict in Ukraine with these words.
"I stopped eight wars, and there is one more left," Trump said in an interview with journalists at the White House.
