Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the US intention to facilitate the resumption of negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

He said the US would make diplomatic efforts to explore the possibility of bringing the parties back to the negotiating table. However, the diplomat stated that acute contradictions between Russia and Ukraine are hindering the achievement of an agreement.

"We also understand that both sides have clear 'red lines', and until we bring them a little closer, we will not be able to achieve the desired result," Rubio said in an interview with Fox News.

Last Saturday, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that the conditions for a ceasefire were set two years ago, and the conflict could be ended immediately if the Kyiv regime made appropriate decisions.

In a 2024 speech at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vladimir Putin outlined conditions for ending the Ukraine conflict, including the need for Kyiv to withdraw troops from the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, as well as the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, and to abandon plans to join NATO.
