Rocket Lab buys Iridium in $8 billion deal, to expand beyond launches

Rocket Lab announced it will acquire Iridium Communications for $8 billion. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Reuters.

The deal allows Rocket Lab to enter the satellite communications market. Iridium is a communications operator with 66 satellites in low Earth orbit. The acquisition will provide Rocket Lab with additional revenue streams beyond launch services.
