In Ridder, residents filmed bears near private homes and school No. 12. Specialists have arrived in the city to track the animals' movements and scare them away. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Night incidents

According to eyewitnesses, last night a female bear with a cub entered the yard of a private house at 13 Lazо Street. When a dog came out to meet the animals, they climbed over a chain-link fence and left. Later they were spotted near the "Krestyansky Dom" store.

"We called the police," eyewitnesses said.

Bears in the center

Another resident said that around four in the morning he saw two bears on Semipalatinskaya Street. This area is located near Independence Avenue and Republic Square — effectively in the city center.

Another video was filmed around one in the morning on Bazarnaya Street. Eyewitnesses noticed the animals as they walked toward the new school No. 12. According to the publication, the footage may show the same female bear with a cub. At the same time, other videos show a female bear with two cubs.

Tracks in Talovka

A day earlier, residents reported bears appearing in the Talovka area, where they photographed animal tracks and broken fences. Ridder residents demand action.

Arrival of specialists

Specialists from the rapid response team of the forestry and hunting sector of the East Kazakhstan Region Natural Resources Department have already arrived in the city. Inspectors will track the animals to scare them away and force them to leave residential areas.

Expert comment

According to the head of the team, Yermek Baglanuly, with the onset of cold weather, bears will begin preparing for winter hibernation.

"After the first snow falls, the bears will come closer to their dens and start preparing them. We need to wait about two weeks and the animals will go into the mountains. And literally in a month and a half they will go to sleep," said Yermek Baglanuly.
