A 13-year-old girl died in Ridder after the motorcycle she was riding hit a rope stretched across the road. Her 15-year-old passenger was hospitalized. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing the police department of the East Kazakhstan region.

The tragedy occurred on the evening of August 23 in the private sector of the city. According to preliminary police data, the teenager received a fatal injury as a result of hitting a rope with which a horse was tied to a post near a residential building. The girl died at the scene.

"It has been preliminarily established that the teenager received a fatal injury as a result of hitting a rope with which a horse was tied to a post near a residential building. The teenager driving the vehicle died at the scene. The passenger was hospitalized in a medical facility," said Gaziz Nuralin, deputy head of the investigative department of the East Kazakhstan region police.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred around 17:30 at the intersection of Wilhelm Pieck and Griboyedov streets. Witnesses claim that there was a stretched obstacle across the motorcycle's path. However, their version that it could have been a cable or wire has not yet been officially confirmed. Police preliminarily speak of a rope with which a horse was tied.

On the fact of causing death by negligence, the Ridder police department opened a criminal case. The owner of the animal was identified and taken to the police department. Investigative actions are being carried out to establish all circumstances of the incident; the investigation is under the control of the head of the East Kazakhstan region police.

The police also reminded owners of farm animals of the need to comply with grazing rules: grazing and driving livestock near highways are prohibited. The department separately noted the inadmissibility of minors driving vehicles.

After the incident, residents of Ridder began bringing flowers and toys to the site of the girl's death.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that on the Ekibastuz-Pavlodar highway, a car drove into a ditch and overturned. Nine people were injured in the accident, including six children. Two adults and six minors were taken to the Ekibastuz city hospital.
