Russia is ready for dialogue with the United States on settling the situation in Ukraine based on Washington's proposals made during the Alaska summit. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told reporters after talks with his Malagasy counterpart: "US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said they cannot be mediators because they support Ukraine, but US President Donald Trump said he is ready to resume efforts to help resolve the Ukrainian crisis. We are ready for this and remain committed to the paths of conflict settlement proposed by the American side at the Anchorage summit."

Lavrov expressed gratitude to the US administration for consistently emphasizing the need for dialogue. He also said he is in constant contact with the US Secretary of State. "I am in touch with Marco Rubio, we have had several personal contacts, we talk on the phone from time to time," he said.
