Russia is open to negotiations on Ukraine, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with RIA Novosti. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

"We are open to negotiations in general. We remain open," Peskov said.

Answering a question about whether holding elections in Ukraine would be a condition for Moscow to resume talks, he noted that "the Russian president has not said anything about this yet."

US President Donald Trump has previously said that Vladimir Zelensky could have resolved the Ukrainian conflict several times but did not do so. Therefore, according to him, Ukraine needs a new leader who can reach an agreement with Russia. In general, Trump believes that Zelensky should hold elections in Ukraine.

In addition, Peskov commented on the visit of Witkoff and Kushner to Moscow in October. This was reported on October 9.
