Russia and Ukraine have exchanged prisoners of war in a "103 for 103" format. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, on August 19, 103 Russian servicemen were returned from the territory controlled by the Kyiv regime. In return, 103 prisoners of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were handed over.

The returned Russian servicemen are currently on the territory of the Republic of Belarus. Russia's Commissioner for Human Rights Yana Lantratova is working with them.

According to the military department, after the necessary psychological and medical assistance, the Russian servicemen will be delivered to Russia, to medical institutions of the Ministry of Defense, for further treatment and rehabilitation.

"During the return of Russian servicemen from captivity, the United Arab Emirates provided humanitarian mediation assistance," the department said.

The previous prisoner exchange took place at the end of June in a "160 for 160" format.
