Russia is taking political and military-technical measures in connection with the lifting of the ban on the deployment of nuclear weapons in Finland. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Russian Foreign Ministry official spokesperson Maria Zakharova, in a comment to RIA Novosti, noted that the decision of the Finnish authorities to lift the ban poses a real threat to Russia's national security. She stated that additional political and military-technical response measures will be required to eliminate these threats.

"Let no one doubt that such measures will be taken in a timely and effective manner," Zakharova said.

Earlier, Finnish President Alexander Stubb approved amendments to the Nuclear Energy Act and the Criminal Code, lifting the ban on the import, production, storage, and use of nuclear weapons in the country.
