Russian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Alexey Borodavkin voted in Astana in the elections to the Russian State Duma. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Elections at polling stations in Kazakhstan are proceeding normally, the ambassador noted.

"Voting is active, people are casting their votes and fulfilling their civic duty. It is important to note that our Kazakh friends and partners have done all the necessary work to ensure the security of the outer perimeter of the polling stations and to properly organize all of this," he believes.

According to Russia's Consul General in Almaty Dmitry Turaev, voting in the southern capital is taking place at two stations — No. 8133 and No. 8134.
