The Financial Monitoring Agency has put former FC Kyzylzhar president Grigory Loria on the wanted list. He is suspected of embezzlement or misappropriation of entrusted property and tax evasion. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The wanted case was registered on November 7, 2026, in the North Kazakhstan Region. According to the portal of legal statistics of the Prosecutor General's Office, the search was initiated by the Financial Monitoring Agency and is being handled by the Department of Economic Investigations for the North Kazakhstan Region.
As Qazaqstan Media previously reported, on November 5 Loria was summoned to the department for questioning as a suspect, but he did not appear. The next day he was invited to the specialized investigative court of Petropavlovsk: it was to consider the investigation's request for a measure of restraint in the form of detention in absentia. The results of the hearing were not reported in open sources.
The Department of Economic Investigations for the North Kazakhstan Region confirmed that a criminal case is being investigated against Loria. However, the agency refused to disclose details, citing the interests of the investigation.
Loria is 72 years old. He headed Kyzylzhar from 2014 to March 2024.
The criminal case may be related to an investigation into financial violations at the football club. In November 2024, the prosecutor's office of the North Kazakhstan Region announced an investigation into the embezzlement of budget funds by officials of Kyzylzhar. At that time, Loria's name was also mentioned in the criminal case, and the materials against him were later separated into a separate proceeding.
In January 2026, a court sentenced the club's former chief accountant, Olga Zamelatskaya, to seven years and six months in prison. She was found guilty of embezzlement and misappropriation of entrusted property, as well as tax evasion. The court also ordered her to recover 70 million tenge in favor of the club, 287 million tenge in favor of the state revenue authorities, and another 10.6 million tenge to the state income.
Grigory Loria's son, former Kazakhstan national team goalkeeper David Loria, became general director of the capital's FC Zhenis in June 2026.
