Since the beginning of the year, 284 violations of the ban on covering faces in public places have been recorded in the Kyzylorda region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Polisia.kz.
Explanatory work continues in the region regarding compliance with legal requirements concerning clothing that hinders face recognition. This is done to ensure public safety and prevent offenses.
According to Article 434-3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan, it is prohibited to wear clothing items that complicate personal identification in public places. The norm applies to balaclavas, masks not used for medical reasons, niqabs, and other types of clothing that fully or partially cover the face.
During preventive measures, police officers meet with residents, explain legal requirements, distribute informational leaflets, and answer citizens' questions. Special attention is paid to shopping and entertainment centers, educational institutions, and places of mass gathering.
According to police, the purpose of such measures is not to bring citizens to responsibility but to prevent offenses. A warning is issued for the first violation. In case of a repeated violation within a year, an administrative fine of 10 MCI is imposed.
The police called on residents and guests of the region to comply with legal requirements aimed at ensuring public safety and to contribute to strengthening law and order.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that about 20 violations of the ban on wearing clothing that hinders face recognition were detected in the Zhambyl region since the beginning of the year. Police checked shopping centers, markets, public service centers, and other public places, and a repeated violation within a year entails a fine of 10 MCI — 43,250 tenge.
