In the Kyzylorda region, the embezzlement of funds allocated for the implementation of an investment project in the livestock sector has been uncovered. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the Financial Monitoring Agency, in 2021, with the participation of "Baikonur" Social and Entrepreneurial Corporation JSC, the joint venture "Syzdak Ata" LLP was established. The total cost of the project amounted to 311 million tenge.
"The project was aimed at developing beef cattle breeding and providing residents of the Zhanakorgan district with high-quality meat products at affordable prices," the statement said.
Within the framework of the project, the corporation invested 151.5 million tenge in the charter capital of the partnership. These funds were intended for the purchase of 1,600 sheep, 130 head of cattle, and equipment for meat packaging.
According to investigation data, after the livestock was purchased, the head of the LLP organized a scheme to withdraw part of the funds. As a result, a total of 60 million tenge was illegally transferred to the accounts of "Nurai" and "Abylaikhan" sole proprietorships controlled by the suspect and cashed out.
The suspect has been taken into custody. By court sanction, two vehicles belonging to him have been seized. The criminal case has been sent to court.
