Authorities in Beijing are investigating a blaze at a shoe factory in southeastern China's Fujian province that killed 28 people. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Associated Press.
The state-run Xinhua News Agency said Friday that a search had ended while an investigation was underway into the cause of the fire Thursday that gutted the factory. The fire occurred at a footwear factory in Jiangtou village, Chendai township of Jinjiang city, Fujian province.
The incident has raised renewed concern over worker safety in China, where factory fire safety standards are often overlooked. The investigation is expected to determine the cause of the blaze.
