Classified documents have been declassified in Crimea revealing that German doctors killed Soviet citizens and prisoners of war during the Great Patriotic War. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The information was released by the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation. "The document contains information about little-known events, such as the killing of Soviet citizens and prisoners of war by German medical personnel," the statement said.

In particular, the declassified document mentions Eberhard Müller, a former medical captain of the German 11th Army. During the occupation of Crimea, he killed Soviet prisoners of war by injecting them with a mixture of morphine and hydrogen peroxide.

"According to Müller, in 1942, in just six weeks, he killed about a thousand prisoners of war using this method. In 1948, he was convicted by a military tribunal," the statement said.
