Kyrgyzstan has proposed exchanging land plots on the border with Kazakhstan for the construction of a toll road. This was announced by the press secretary of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Askat Alagozov, as reported by Sputnik Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The toll road is planned to be built from Almaty Street in Bishkek to Kemin. The land plot proposed for exchange in Tokmok is 800 meters long.

"Such issues should not become political speculation," Alagozov said.

Kazakhstan leased land on Issyk-Kul for 49 years. This was reported on December 29, 2025.
