The Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry explained the cause of internet disruptions. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
"The temporary disruption on some internet resources was caused by damage to the main fiber-optic communication line during construction work," the statement said.
According to Kazakhtelecom JSC, construction equipment damaged a cable that provides one of the main routes for international internet traffic.
"Specialists urgently switched traffic to backup channels, which prevented a complete communication outage," the ministry said.
