The Central Election Commission has announced the amount of funds allocated for the Kurultai elections. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
For the upcoming elections, 34.3 billion tenge has been allocated from the government reserve. According to commission member Mikhail Bortnik, the majority of this money – 70% – will be spent on salaries for people working in election commissions.
"And the total number of commission members exceeds 70 thousand people," Bortnik said.
The remaining funds will be used to open 48 new polling stations, printing work including ballots, and information posters.
