A defense-purpose land plot worth over 1 billion tenge has been returned to the state. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The military prosecutor's office of the Shymkent garrison revealed a violation of the law regarding a land plot belonging to one of the military units of the National Guard. The land plot with a total area of over 87 hectares was illegally transferred to private structures in 1999, and subsequently resold several times.
The garrison prosecutor's office, together with the military unit, achieved through court the invalidation of the purchase and sale agreements. As a result, the land plot worth over 1 billion tenge was returned to state ownership and transferred to the military department.
