National operator Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) signed a package of agreements worth $400 million with Chinese companies in Shanghai. The cooperation is expected in the areas of IT, shipbuilding, and transport corridor development, KTZ reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

A business forum "Kazakhstan – China" organized by NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy was held in Shanghai, with the participation of Samruk-Kazyna Chairman Nurlan Zhakupov and Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Asel Zhanasova.

Representatives of the railway company held a series of meetings with representatives of leading Chinese companies – COSCO Shipping, Shanghai International Port Group, Lianyungang Port, China Railway Container Transport, China Harbour Engineering Company, and others. Participants discussed the development of the "Middle Corridor," or the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.

Following the meeting, KTZ concluded agreements worth $400 million. Part of the contracts are denominated in yuan and tenge. They concern cooperation in IT, port and terminal logistics, shipbuilding, and digitalization of transport processes.

The agreements are aimed at implementing joint projects, including the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.
