In Kazakhstan, the final stage of filming for an international film about Khoja Nasreddin has begun. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The historical feature film "Molla Nasreddin: Friend of Hard Times" unites filmmakers from six countries. Previously, the filming crew worked in Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

The final scenes of the film are being shot in the Almaty region, the cities of Almaty and Turkistan, including near the mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi.

According to ministry specialists, this is a full-length feature film being implemented within the framework of creative cooperation of Turkic countries. Through the image of the famous folklore character, the work introduces common cultural values, traditions, and worldview of Turkic peoples. The film uses Kazakh, Azerbaijani, Turkish, Kyrgyz, Turkmen, and Uzbek languages.

The scriptwriter and director is People's Artist of Azerbaijan Vagif Mustafayev. The role of the main character Khoja Nasreddin is played by Honored Artist of Kazakhstan Sagyzbay Karabalin. Also starring in the film are Konysbek Bekaidarov, Ondasyn Besikbasov, and Akerke Arys.

It is worth noting that the project was initiated in 2023 at the 40th meeting of the TURKSOY Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture in Shusha.
