A scandal has erupted at the private children's camp 'Svetofor' in Kostanay. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

A video circulated on social media depicting the sleeping quarters and toilets of the camp, revealing conditions that do not meet standards. The regional education department provided a statement.

According to the department, the 'Svetofor' camp is a private entity. This year, it was leased by the individual entrepreneur 'Rashit'. The camp has been operating since 2025.

The department's monitoring team visited the camp on May 20, June 12, and June 14, issuing warnings to management to rectify deficiencies, including issues with bathrooms, dining hall, and bedrooms.

'At the request of parents, the education department returned children home on June 16, 17, and 24. On June 17, the department sent an official letter to the director of the 'Svetofor' camp requiring comprehensive measures to eliminate the identified violations,' the Kostanay regional education department stated.
