A major fire broke out in one of the garden communities in Kostanay. Rescuers removed five gas cylinders from a burning house, thereby preventing a possible explosion. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), a fire report was received at the 112 dispatch center. A mansard residential building and a garden house were on fire. The total fire area was 150 square meters.
"Upon arrival, MES personnel first ensured safety by evacuating four gas cylinders with a volume of 27 liters and one 50-liter cylinder from the danger zone," the MES reported.
The fire was completely extinguished. No one was injured as a result of the incident. Specialists are determining the cause of the fire.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that an explosion occurred in a room for preparing tandyr samsa at one of the markets in the Baikonyr district of Astana. Four people, including a child, were injured in the incident.
Circumstances of the Fire
Thanks to the prompt actions of the rescuers, severe consequences were avoided. Firefighters timely evacuated the gas cylinders, preventing them from overheating and exploding.
MES specialists are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. Preliminary reports suggest the cause could be an electrical short circuit or careless handling of fire.
