World War II veteran Qasymkhan Aldabergenov, who lives in Kostanay, has turned 101. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The veteran was presented with a congratulatory letter from the Minister of Defense. The leadership of the regional department of defense affairs also paid him a special visit.

First Deputy Head of the Department Timur Satbayev expressed warm wishes to the veteran.
"You went through the severe trials of war and showed an example of heroism and resilience. Your life path is a vivid example of perseverance, courage and loyalty to the Motherland. We wish you strong health, long life, peace of mind, well-being, and the care and attention of your loved ones," said Timur Satbayev.
In turn, the veteran thanked the servicemen for their attention and warm words. He also shared his memories of the war years.
Biography
Qasymkhan Aldabergenov was born on September 11, 1925, in the village of Taldysai in the Kamysty district of Kostanay region. In 1943, he was drafted into the Red Army through the Zhitikara district military commissariat.
A year later, he graduated from the Zlatoust machine gun school and went to the front. Aldabergenov liberated Hungary, Austria and Czechoslovakia.
At that time, for his heroism and resilience, he was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, II degree, and the medal "For Courage".
In 1950, he returned from the war and worked as a teacher at a school. And from 1971, he served as a staff correspondent for the regional newspaper "Kostanay Tany".
