A man in Kostanay region paid 34 times more fine for illegally dumping construction waste at a landfill. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
A resident of Kostanay city used a truck to transport construction waste to the outskirts and dumped it in an unauthorized location. The city police department held the violator accountable by issuing a warning.
However, the law provides for severe liability for violating environmental requirements in waste management – a fine of up to 100 monthly calculation indices. Following a protest by the specialized environmental prosecutor, the court canceled the illegal resolution of May 28, 2026.
The violator was brought to administrative responsibility in the form of a fine of 865,000 tenge. The court decision has entered into legal force.
The environmental prosecutor's office identified a total of ten such facts. In this regard, an algorithm of actions for the correct application of legal norms was developed and the work of authorized state bodies was optimized.
