A court in Kostanay has issued a ruling against a local resident who caused a scandal at a clinic. The offender turned out to be an elderly person. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to case materials, the incident occurred recently — on July 16, 2026. Citizen D., while in the building of the medical center Bios LLP, had a conflict with a clinic employee — medical worker S.

The man deliberately showed disrespect to the staff and not only used obscene language towards the woman but also directly threatened her with physical force. During the court hearing, D.'s guilt was fully proven by collected evidence and witness testimony.

Article 80-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan for disrespect towards medical workers (especially repeated or with aggravating circumstances) provides for severe sanctions, including arrest. However, in this case, the court showed leniency.

"By the court's ruling, D. was found guilty. He was sentenced to an administrative fine of 30 monthly calculation indices (MCI). However, taking into account the provisions of the law, the fine was reduced by 30%, resulting in 90,825 tenge," the court's press service reported.

At the moment, the court ruling has not yet entered into force and may be appealed.

Recall that a medical worker from Kostanay posted a video on social media showing one of the patients of the hemodialysis unit showering her with profanities and openly threatening physical violence. The woman stated that she would no longer remain silent, as "death threats are not part of the profession."

This incident has once again raised the issue of disrespect towards medical workers in Kazakhstan. According to the law, insulting or threatening doctors and nurses leads to administrative liability, and in severe cases, criminal proceedings may be initiated.

Since the court ruling has not yet entered into force, the parties have the right to appeal. If no appeal is filed, the fine will be enforced.

To protect the rights of medical workers, amendments were introduced in Kazakhstan several years ago to increase liability for disrespect towards doctors. However, such incidents still occur.

The brave action of the Kostanay nurse may inspire other medical workers to break their silence and defend their rights. The video has been widely shared on social media and caused public outcry.

The outcome of the court case is expected to help increase respect for doctors in society and prevent similar offenses.
