A woman in Kostanay who underwent lip plastic surgery was forced to go to court. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the court, in October 2024, the defendant performed cheiloplasty (lip plastic surgery) on the plaintiff, charging 120,000 tenge. Later, as the result of the first operation did not satisfy the plaintiff, a second operation was performed in April 2025 for 90,000 tenge.
During an inspection by the authorized body, it was found that the defendant did not have a specialist certificate in "Plastic Surgery" or a license to practice medicine. "According to the conclusion of a comprehensive forensic medical examination, due to excessive tissue removal during the operations, the plaintiff developed a scar deformity of the upper lip. A direct causal link was established between the surgical interventions and the resulting consequences. The harm caused to the plaintiff's health was assessed as moderate harm," the regional court statement said.
The court found that the defendant provided medical services without proper specialized education and a license, and also did not maintain medical documentation, resulting in harm to the plaintiff's health. The court partially granted the claim. The defendant was ordered to pay the plaintiff 210,000 tenge for the cost of the operations, 700,000 tenge in moral damages, and 457,000 tenge for the cost of the forensic examination. The court decision has not entered into legal force.
