In Kostanay, doctors saved a 15-year-old teenager who suffered a severe electrical injury after trying to take a photo on the roof of a railway car. A discharge of over 27,000 volts passed through the student's body. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing the publication "Nash Kostanay".

The incident occurred on June 25. The teenager was taken to the trauma center of the regional children's hospital with severe thermal burns covering more than 60% of his body.

According to traumatologist-orthopedist Miras Yelzhasov, the boy was immediately hospitalized in intensive care, where he spent about a month and a half.

"Fortunately, we managed to save his arms and legs," Yelzhasov said.

The doctor noted that with such injuries, the chances of survival are extremely low. According to world and republican statistics, about 90% of children with such injuries die within the first week.

Now the teenager has been transferred from intensive care to a regular ward. It is too early to talk about discharge - treatment may take another two to three weeks.

The teenager himself said that on that day he was walking with friends. The group decided to shorten the way home and walked along the railway tracks. Seeing a train, the students wanted to take a photo.

"I sat on the roof, a friend took a photo of me. Then I stood up, and I was hit by an electric arc. It threw me about two meters," the teenager said.

He managed to post the photo on social media before the incident.

After the shock, the boy lost consciousness. When he came to, he initially wanted to go home on his own, but the medics who arrived provided him with assistance and took him to the hospital.

"I remember how everyone in the emergency room looked at me with huge eyes, and then I passed out," the student recalls.

Treatment lasted about a month and a half. Doctors, sponsors who helped purchase rare and expensive medications, as well as donors, participated in saving the teenager. The boy needed a rare blood type - fourth negative.

After the incident, the teenager decided to change his plans for a future profession. Two days before the incident, the ninth-grade graduate had submitted documents for the specialty of electrician. Now he intends to connect his life with medicine.

The student also addressed other teenagers, urging them not to repeat his mistake and not to risk their lives for photos.
