On June 26, the final session of the bicameral parliament will be held in Astana. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The Chairman of the Mazhilis signed an order to convene a joint session of the parliament chambers. The order states: "In accordance with subparagraph 2 of paragraph 4 of Article 58 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a joint session of the Chambers of the Parliament of Kazakhstan shall be convened on June 26, 2026, at 10:00 in the city of Astana."
From July 1, the new Constitution comes into force. Accordingly, from September, a unicameral parliament – the Kurultai – will begin its work in Kazakhstan. Prior to that, elections for Kurultai deputies will be held.
