Defense Minister Major General Aidos Myrzakhmetov held his first working meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

New tasks set by the minister

At the meeting, the main tasks for the further development and reform of the Armed Forces were outlined:

  • 01increasing the real combat readiness of troops,
  • 02improving the management system,
  • 03raising the quality of combat training,
  • 04developing weapons and military equipment,
  • 05strengthening the moral and combat spirit of servicemen.

Commanders were tasked with forming a healthy moral and psychological climate in military collectives, improving the quality of educational work, and improving the service conditions of personnel.

Safety of military service

Special attention is paid to ensuring the safety of military service, preventing and strictly not allowing hazing and non-statutory relations, the ministry says.

The new minister intends to review approaches to training servicemen.

"Training must correspond as closely as possible to the conditions of conducting modern combat operations and be based on practical experience and analysis of modern conflicts. It is also necessary to take into account modern methods of using unmanned systems, electronic warfare means, intelligence, communications and other new technologies," the Ministry of Defense says.

Task assigned to commanders

Commanders were tasked with ensuring a high level of training of personnel, coordinated actions of units and constant readiness to act in various conditions.

Improving the troop management system will also become a separate direction of the reform. At the same time, further digitalization of processes is envisaged, reducing excessive administrative procedures, reporting and meetings that have no practical significance. The freed-up resources should be directed directly to increasing the combat capability of the troops.

A soldier must feel safe

The minister instructed to ensure rational and efficient use of budget funds, prevent inefficient spending and increase the transparency of decisions made.

"The army must develop not for reporting indicators and show events, but for achieving real results. Every process, every decision and every allocated resource must have a practical result and be aimed at increasing the combat capability of the Armed Forces. Every soldier must feel safe," the defense minister noted.
