The Kazakhstan Hockey Federation (KHF) has denied information that it supports declaring a boycott of the Russian national team. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

A statement circulated in foreign social networks on behalf of Kazakhstan's Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerbol Myrzabosynov in several languages has been found to be fake. The false posts were published on X (Twitter) and Bluesky in Russian, Czech and English.

Executive Director of the Kazakhstan Hockey Federation Rustem Ibrayev officially refuted this information.

According to the federation, the issue of admitting national teams to the World Championship is decided solely by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF).

"According to our position, the issues of allowing national teams to participate in international competitions and determining the composition of participants in world championships fall under the exclusive competence of the International Ice Hockey Federation. Such decisions must be made taking into account the position of the relevant judicial bodies and existing international sports norms," the federation said.

The statement notes that the Kazakhstan Hockey Federation consistently supports the principles of developing international cooperation, ensuring fair competition in sports and creating equal conditions for all participants.

Earlier, a fake statement on behalf of Sports Minister Yerbol Myrzabosynov was circulated online in three languages.
