According to the results of the first half of this year, the European asset of KazMunayGas NC JSC — KMG International showed stable financial and operational results. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The Petromidia oil refinery in Romania processed 2.6 million tons of crude. Output of petroleum products reached 2.529 million tons, including: diesel fuel — 1.159 million tons; gasoline — 700,000 tons; Jet A1 aviation fuel — 225,000 tons.
Sales volume of retail companies under KMGI increased by 7% to 1.444 million tons, mainly due to growth in wholesale trade in Romania and Moldova. Sales of other (non-fuel) goods in Romania also rose by 6%, or $26.1 million, the statement said.
Consolidated EBITDA amounted to $203 million, 40% higher than in the same period last year. Net profit reached $87 million compared to a loss of $6 million a year earlier.
As part of developing its international trading direction, KMGI signed an agreement with the State Property Agency of the Republic of Moldova to expand bilateral cooperation. The project will allow the company to enter Moldova's aviation fuel market, organize aircraft refueling operations, and improve the efficiency of the logistics chain in the region, the company noted.
