KazMunayGas expressed condolences to the families and friends of servicemen killed during exercises in the Caspian Sea. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The tragedy occurred on 24 September. As a result, 14 people died and three more were rescued.
The company said that among the dead was the son of an employee of Ozenmunaigazservice LLP.
“With deep sorrow we report that among the soldiers who died as a result of the tragedy was the son of our colleague, an employee of Ozenmunaigazservice LLP Bolatbek Shalabayev — Madikhan Azamat Bolatbekuly,” the statement said.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defence reported that the bodies of two missing servicemen had been found.
The Prosecutor General's Office identified suspects in connection with the deaths of the servicemen. The investigation of the criminal case continues.
25 September is a day of national mourning in Kazakhstan.
