On July 30, unfavorable meteorological conditions (UMCs) are expected in Almaty, as well as at night in Astana and Kostanay. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to weather forecasters, UMCs occur when calm weather, light wind, fog, and temperature inversion combine. Under such conditions, pollutants accumulate in the surface layer of the atmosphere, which can lead to deterioration of air quality.
The level of pollution is also affected by wind speed, humidity, air temperature, and precipitation.
During UMC periods, the risk of negative health impacts increases. People with chronic respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, as well as allergy sufferers, should be especially cautious.
Residents are advised to reduce time spent outdoors, especially near highways and other pollution sources. Children and pregnant women are recommended to avoid long walks.
People with chronic diseases should keep their prescribed medications with them. Outdoor physical activity should be limited and, if possible, moved indoors.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that according to Kazhydromet forecasts, most of the country will experience rain with thunderstorms, with heavy downpours in some places, and hail and squally winds are possible. At the same time, the south will continue to suffer from extreme heat, with temperatures in some regions rising to +44 degrees.
