On July 14, unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in Almaty and five other cities of Kazakhstan, Kazhydromet reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to weather forecasters, adverse weather conditions are predicted in Aktobe, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Ridder, and Almaty, and at night — in Astana and Atyrau.

As experts explained, unfavorable meteorological conditions occur when calm, weak wind, fog, and temperature inversion combine. As a result, pollutants accumulate in the surface layer of the atmosphere, leading to deterioration of air quality.

Forecasters warn that during such periods, the risk of negative health impacts increases, especially for people with chronic diseases.

The level of air pollution is influenced by wind speed, precipitation, humidity, and air temperature.

Residents are advised to reduce time spent outdoors, especially near highways and other sources of pollution. Children and pregnant women are advised to avoid long walks.

People with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, as well as allergy sufferers, are recommended to carry necessary medications. Specialists advise limiting outdoor physical activity and, if possible, moving activities indoors.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that on July 14, storm warnings were issued in most regions of Kazakhstan. Forecasters predict rain, thunderstorms, hail, squally wind, dust storms, fog, and extreme heat.
