Kazhydromet has published a consultative weather forecast for the upcoming winter, Sputnik Kazakhstan reports. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Heavy snow expected in the center
According to the preliminary forecast, the winter will be warm, with precipitation levels within the norm.
"However, in certain areas of the northwest, north, and northeast of the country, as well as in Central Kazakhstan, precipitation may exceed the climatic norm," the weather service said.
What will the air temperature be?
Average air temperatures across the republic:
- 01in December — 2°C above the climatic norm;
- 02in January — 1–2°C above the norm, while in the northwest — within the climatic norm;
- 03in February — 1–3°C above the norm, while in the northern and eastern regions — within the climatic norm.
Precipitation levels
In December and January, precipitation in most of the country will be close to the climatic norm; in February, precipitation will be above the norm, while in the western part of the country it will be within the climatic norm.
It is noted that the forecast is consultative in nature. Actual weather may differ from the forecast indicators.
