On July 6, unfavorable meteorological conditions (UMC) are forecast in Almaty, Aktobe, and several other cities of Kazakhstan, Kazhydromet reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to weather forecasters, UMC are expected in Aktobe and Almaty, as well as at night in Astana, Atyrau, Kostanay, Karaganda, Zhezkazgan, Balkhash, and Temirtau.
As experts explained, unfavorable meteorological conditions occur when calm weather, light wind, fog, and temperature inversion combine. As a result, pollutants accumulate in the surface layer of the atmosphere, leading to deterioration of air quality.
Forecasters note that during such periods, the risk of negative health impacts increases, especially for people with chronic diseases.
The level of air pollution is also affected by wind speed, precipitation, humidity, and air temperature.
Residents are advised to reduce time spent outdoors, especially near highways and other sources of pollution. Children and pregnant women are advised to avoid long walks.
People with respiratory diseases, cardiovascular system diseases, and allergies are recommended to carry necessary medications with them. Specialists advise limiting physical activity outdoors and, if possible, moving activities indoors.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that dangerous weather phenomena are expected in Astana and all 17 regions of Kazakhstan on July 6, according to Kazhydromet.
