The national company Kazakh Tourism has announced the results of the annual 'Best Tourist Village' competition. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

This initiative is aimed at developing sustainable and ecological tourism, as well as promoting rural areas with unique natural, historical and cultural heritage.

According to the results of 2026, the top five tourist villages of Kazakhstan are: - **Bashchi** (Zhetysu region, Kerbulak district); - **Toraigyr** (Pavlodar region, Bayanaul district); - **Berel** (East Kazakhstan region, Katonkaragay district); - **Korobikha** (East Kazakhstan region, Katonkaragay district); - **Imantau** (North Kazakhstan region, Aiyrtau district).

Last year, the winners were the villages of Lepsi (Zhetysu region), Nagi Ilyasov (Kyzylorda region), Khan Ordasy (West Kazakhstan region), Poperechnoye (East Kazakhstan region) and Shabanbay bi (Karaganda region).

It is worth noting that in 2023, the village of Saty in Almaty region received the prestigious 'Best Tourism Villages by UN Tourism' award from the UN World Tourism Organization, becoming one of the best tourist villages in the world.
