On June 19, unfavorable meteorological conditions (UMC) are expected in several cities of Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kazhydromet.
According to weather forecasters, air quality deterioration is predicted during the day in Aktobe and Balkhash, and at night in Kostanay.
As experts explained, unfavorable weather conditions occur when calm, light wind, fog, and temperature inversion combine. Under such conditions, pollutants accumulate in the surface layer of the atmosphere, which can lead to air quality deterioration.
Forecasters warn that during such periods, the risk of negative health impacts increases, especially for people with chronic diseases.
The level of air pollution is influenced by wind speed, precipitation, humidity, and air temperature.
Residents are advised to reduce time spent outdoors, especially near roads and other pollution sources. Children and pregnant women are advised to avoid long walks.
People with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, as well as allergy sufferers, are recommended to carry necessary medications. Specialists advise limiting outdoor physical activity and, if possible, moving activities indoors.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that a storm warning was issued across Kazakhstan due to abnormal heat and rain.
