Unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in Almaty and eight other cities of Kazakhstan on October 18. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to weather forecasters, unfavorable meteorological conditions (UMC) are predicted in Kostanay, Pavlodar, Karaganda, Zhezkazgan, Balkhash, Temirtau, Aktobe, Almaty and Astana.

As specialists explain, unfavorable weather conditions arise from a combination of calm, weak wind, fog and temperature inversion. As a result, pollutants accumulate in the surface layer of the atmosphere, which can lead to a deterioration in air quality.

Weather forecasters warn that during such periods the risk of negative health effects increases, especially for people with chronic diseases.

Air pollution levels are influenced by wind speed, precipitation, humidity and air temperature.

Residents are advised to reduce time spent outdoors, especially near roads and other sources of pollution. Children and pregnant women are advised to avoid long walks.

People with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, as well as allergy sufferers, are advised to carry necessary medications. Specialists recommend limiting physical activity outdoors and, if possible, moving classes indoors.
