On September 16, unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in Almaty and three other cities of Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to weather forecasters, NMU are predicted in Almaty, and at night — in Atyrau, Ust-Kamenogorsk and Semey.

As specialists explain, unfavorable weather conditions arise from a combination of calm, weak wind, fog and temperature inversion. As a result, pollutants accumulate in the surface layer of the atmosphere, which can lead to deterioration of air quality.

Weather forecasters warn that during such periods the risk of negative health effects increases, especially for people with chronic diseases.

The level of air pollution is influenced by wind speed, precipitation, humidity and air temperature.

Residents are advised to reduce time spent outdoors, especially near roads and other sources of pollution. Children and pregnant women are advised to avoid long walks.

People with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, as well as allergy sufferers, are advised to carry necessary medications. Experts recommend limiting physical activity outdoors and, if possible, moving classes indoors.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that a storm warning was announced in Astana and 16 regions of the country. Rain with thunderstorms, strong wind, fog and a dust storm are expected.
