Eight regions of Kazakhstan will meet September 29 with frost. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to Kazhydromet forecasts, overnight on September 29, temperatures in several northern, central and eastern regions of Kazakhstan will drop to 1–3 degrees below zero. In Astana, forecasters expect frost on the soil surface down to −3 degrees. In the south, rain with thunderstorms is expected.

Where frost is expected

Frost is forecast in Akmola, Aktobe, Kostanay, North Kazakhstan, Pavlodar, Karaganda and East Kazakhstan regions, as well as in the Abai region. It will affect certain districts rather than the entire territory of these regions.

In Karaganda, forecasters also predict frost on the soil down to −3 degrees, in Kokshetau, Kostanay and Petropavlovsk — down to −2 degrees. In Pavlodar and Ust-Kamenogorsk, nighttime temperatures may drop to −1…−3 degrees.

Rain and thunderstorms in the south

At night, light rain, thunderstorms and squalls are expected in the north and center of the Kyzylorda region. In the Turkestan region, rain with thunderstorms is forecast in the north and in the mountains, while during the day a dust storm will rise in the north of the region. Rain and thunderstorms are also possible in the mountainous areas of the Zhambyl region.

Wind, fog and fire danger

In the Zhambyl region, wind gusts will reach 23 m/s. In many other regions, the wind will intensify to 15–20 m/s. At night and in the morning, fog is expected in certain districts of the West Kazakhstan, Kostanay, North Kazakhstan, East Kazakhstan and Zhambyl regions.

Kazhydromet warns of extreme fire danger in 14 regions — across the entire territory or in certain districts. These include the Kyzylorda, Turkestan, Zhambyl and Almaty regions, as well as the Ulytau and Zhetisu regions. For the remaining regions listed in the forecast, high fire danger has been established in places.

Extreme fire danger persists in the Turkestan region and Shymkent.

Earlier, forecasters had already warned Kazakhstanis about weather surprises in early October.
