According to Kazhydromet forecasts, on July 19 almost all of Kazakhstan will be under contrasting weather conditions. While some regions will suffer from extreme heat, others will be hit by heavy rain, thunderstorms, hail and squally winds. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to weather forecasters, rain with thunderstorms will occur over most of the country. Storm warnings have been issued across Kazakhstan. In Astana, rain and thunderstorms are expected.

In Karaganda, Akmola, Kostanay, Pavlodar, North Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan, Aktobe, East Kazakhstan regions and Abai region, thunderstorms, locally heavy rain, hail and gusty winds up to 20–25 m/s are forecast.

In Kyzylorda region, a dust storm is expected during the day with heat up to 44 degrees, and in Zhetysu region on July 19–20, the northeast wind will intensify in the area of Lake Alakol with gusts up to 23–28 m/s.

The strongest heat is expected in the south of the country. In Turkestan region, the air will heat up to 45–48 degrees, in Zhambyl region — up to 43–45 degrees.

In Almaty region and Zhetysu region, forecasters predict up to 40–45 degrees, in Kyzylorda region — 40–44 degrees. In Akmola, Pavlodar, Karaganda, East Kazakhstan regions, as well as in Abai and Ulytau regions, the temperature will rise to 35–39 degrees, locally up to 42 degrees.

Due to the abnormal heat, high and extreme fire danger persists in most regions. Residents are asked to be careful, not to light fires in open areas and, if possible, not to stay long under the scorching sun.

Earlier, forecasters promised residents of some regions a cooling down to +21 degrees.
