Kazakhstan will experience a sharp weather change in the last days of August and early September. According to Kazhydromet forecasts, in the north and east of the country, rain will turn into wet snow, and nighttime temperatures will drop to 1-3 degrees in some places. Where wet snow is expected

According to weather forecasters, wet snow is expected as early as the night of August 30 in the north and east of the North Kazakhstan region. On the night of August 30-31, rain turning to wet snow will pass in the north and east of the Kostanay region.

From September 1 to 2, such weather is expected in the north and east of the Akmola region. During the same days, rain will turn to wet snow in the east and mountainous areas of the East Kazakhstan region.

In the Pavlodar region, precipitation turning to wet snow is expected on September 1 in the west and north, and on September 2 in the north and east of the region.

In the Abai region, rain may turn to wet snow on September 2 in the west, north, and east.

Frosts and cold weather

Cold weather will be accompanied by frosts. In the west and north of the Kostanay region, temperatures of 1-3 degrees above zero are expected on the night of August 30-31. Similar frosts are forecast from August 31 to September 2 in some areas of the Akmola and Karaganda regions.

From September 1 to 2, frosts down to 1-3 degrees are expected in the west, north, and east of the East Kazakhstan region, as well as in the west and north of the Abai region and in some areas of the Pavlodar region.

In Petropavlovsk, on the night of August 30-31, frosts down to 1 degree are expected on the soil surface. In Astana, frosts on the soil surface are forecast for the night of August 31.

Heat persists in the south

Meanwhile, on August 29, the weather will still be summery warm. In the Almaty region and the Zhetysu region, intense heat up to +35-37 degrees is expected during the day. In Almaty, the air will warm up to +35, in Konayev — to +35-36 degrees.

In the north, northeast, and center of the country, on August 29, rains, thunderstorms, heavy precipitation in places, hail, and squally winds are expected. In the Pavlodar region, wind gusts can reach 23-28 m/s.

Thus, in just a few days, the weather in Kazakhstan will change from summer heat to wet snow and frosts.
