Drivers in Atyrau and Mangystau have encountered queues at auto gas filling stations. However, the reasons in the regions turned out to be different. In Atyrau, the problem is associated with repairs at an oil refinery, while in Aktau, authorities explain the rush by a sharp increase in the number of cars. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The Department of Entrepreneurship and Trade of the Mangystau region stated that there is no shortage of liquefied gas in the region, reports Lada.kz. Queues occur only at individual gas stations located on the busiest streets of the city.

According to the department, almost 185,500 cars are registered in the region, of which nearly 104,000 run on gas. Over the past three years, more than 22,300 cars with Georgian transit plates have been imported into the region, most of which refuel with auto gas. In summer, the flow of transport from other regions traditionally increases, further boosting demand.

Each month, the region receives 18,000 tons of liquefied gas – the largest volume among Kazakhstani regions. Despite this, in May the region was allocated an additional 1,008 tons, and in June – 1,512 tons. Part of the fuel has already arrived at gas stations, and the remaining volume is promised to be delivered by the end of the month.

In Atyrau, the situation is different. As Kazinform writes, long queues at gas stations formed on the eve of the planned shutdown of the Atyrau Oil Refinery for preventive maintenance.

The regional energy department reported that to meet demand, gas will be additionally supplied from other regions. In addition to products from the Atyrau refinery, the region will receive another 2,000 tons of fuel from SNPS-Aktobemunaigas and 740 tons from the Zhaikmunai enterprise.

Additional volumes will be delivered by rail and road transport. According to officials, this will take about 4–5 days.

At the same time, in June, the Ministry of Energy allocated 6,909 tons of liquefied gas to the Atyrau region. For July, 6,882 tons are planned. However, the actual need of the region is almost twice as high – 12–13 thousand tons per month.

Meanwhile, an investigation continues in Atyrau regarding the regional department of energy and housing and communal services. It is related to the procedure for distributing liquefied gas among suppliers.
